I am looking to get a cage for my senegal. The cage I have almost decided on is 22" w x 17" d x 30" h. Is this large enough for a bird that has plenty of out of cage time daily? If not, I guess I will have to go larger. Thanks!

This cage is a possibility and probably larger than the minimum requirement for living but not really for thriving. I would still say it is a bit small. We keep our conures in cages that are 24"x24"x36" or larger and for the most part these birds are smaller than the bird you are talking about. If you can go larger I definitely would. Even if they are out a lot they really benifit from a larger cage with lots of toys and room to climb and play.
I ended up buying the 32 X 22 X 35. I moved him into it yesterday, he freaked out at first and didn't want to make the move, but later on last night after our before bedtime hang out, he went in and for once didn't nibble me to get out. Nice! I am so glad I went with a larger cage. He seems pretty happy with it, and that is the most important thing. Thanks for responding!!
