My daughter had her parakeet sunning in the kitchen window. My sun comes through and finds the bird submerged in a sink full of dirty dish water. He was retrieved, has sneezed and some water came out of his nose. He is wrapped in a towel now and my daughter is holding him. Anything we can do to help him? The kids are hysterical, I would appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks a million...

Keep him warm. I am not sure where you are located but if it is cooler in your house your can use a heat lamp with a regular bulb in it over his cage (make sure it is not too hot but enough to warm him in case he is too stressed. You might even wrap a towel, sheet etc around three sides of he cage. After a stressful incident they sometimes like to hide to feel safe and the cage being enclosed on three sides should help this. Listen to his breathing closely, make sure there is no wheezing sounds. If he does sound like he may be wheezing or you notice any nasal drainage get him to a vet immediately. Otherwise for a day or two offer special foods and security to help him get over his stress.
