or are they ALL like this? everyone is just enchanted with her! i'm utterly stupid in love with her. my caiques, think she's awesome, olive wants desperately to mother her, but here's the odd one---my year old italian greyhound is acting like kai is a strange blue puppy.
she's interested in her, but not like that nervous-nervous 'i'm gonna eat you' or 'i'm terrified of you' thing, she very cautiously walks over to kai and sniffs her, slowly moves a couple inches back if kai warns her off with that big beak, but then waits til she settles back down, and goes right back over to make friends! i actually watched her sniffing kai, while i was petting her, she closed her eyes, and gwylan licked her face!!! kai tipped her head back and wallowed in the attention.
here's the best though, and the reason why i will be going to work tomorrow to get my camera...gwylan brought a rawhide up on the couch tonight while kai and i were sitting here, watching tv. kai's on the back of the couch, and she sees gwylan let the rawhide fall in between a couch pillow, and the back of the couch. she waddles across the back of the couch, down to the arm, sliiiiiiides down the arm to the pillow, and gingerly reaches over for the rawhide! she turns around, so she's facing the same way gwylan is, and the whole time, gwylan is laying there, watching her, just inches away.
the next thing i know, kai is chewing on the rawhide, gwylan is laying down next to her, head down on the pillow, sleepily watching her. they were like two little kids, hanging out together! there was only about two inches between them...i could hardly believe what i was seeing! i wanted to get my phone, but i didn't want to ruin the moment! isn't that amazing? do i have the coolest baby macaw in the universe? or the coolest iggie? or both? or is that average baby blue and gold behavior?
gotta tell ya, i was floored. i know i had that mouth hanging open, dumbstruck look on my face.
