Anyone know of any commercial grasshopper breeders for the purpose of feeders..

I've tried to raise them based on a large wild caught selection, and it was incredibly difficult. I never could find anyone else to breed them either. If you want to feed grasshoppers, i recommend the "can-o-hoppers" (you know, similar to can o crickets). It comes with a couple dozen, and they are pretty big. otherwise, sorry...

Hey Ghost, thanx for the reply, I think I've about given up..how about anyone who deals in VERY large crickets, ya know the ones you see outside (black and Brown)

never feed those big black crickets. they have a very high amount of chitin and not enough meat. not only that, but they are really dirty. if you are looking for a larger insect, get a dozen hissing roaches and they will breed pretty fast. keep em in a ten gallon tank, throw in some fruit/veggies every once in a while, and you are set.
