I only use eggs to sent the fruit that I feed my tegus. I boil them then mix them with water and blend them in a food proceser. Then I dip the fruit in the eggs. Now I only do this because my tegus are spoiled and dont eat fruit any other way. Also they dont get much of the egg this way. I mainly use Apricots and Kiwiis .As for eggs I would feed them one egg no more than evry other week. Make shure you cook them . Russ

not heathy to feed to much. There is not much in the egg that is good for your tegus . The eggs they eat in the wild are fertal. Most store bought eggs are not . I know that Stella Said she lost a colany of black throughts to eggs , because they would not eat any thing else. Thanks Russ

Wholly Godzillllllla batman, is that a full grown blue next to that B&W?? I have never seen a side by side comparison. Is that the typical size or a real big fella there? My blue Tegu "Tegan" is right at 4' and I thought he was a fatty. I had no idea B&W's were that much bigger if that's the case. That B&W is such an awesome chunk o lizard! I wanted a B&W but figured if I got a blue I would have room for more herps Reptilian mentality ya know. But I do still have this one 8' cage to fill.... must fight urge.....

I thought it was ok if the egg was mixed in with raw turkey and supplements?

The absolute minimum dimensions I'd recommend would be 6' by 3'. It'd be nice if you could squeeze another foot in there though. As far as height I'd say 2.5', they don't climb much but you'll want to have room for deep substrate. I don't feed mine eggs hardly at all.

32 sq ft of floor space for an adult Argentine B&W. That's a 4x8 foot sheet of plywood on the floor. I've been drawing and redrawing plans and I think mine is going to be a corner cage roughly 8 x 3 feet on one side and 6 x 3 on the other. My plan is to have about 40 sq. ft. with room on top for my snakes.

About the eggs...buy one of those microwave egg poachers. Scramble the egg in the shell and cook for about 20 seconds to get a soft poached egg. Let cool and feed shell and all. I chop mine up, it makes less of a mess and he gets more of the shell. I feed one about every five to seven days, or when I want to get him to eat something new.

"Recommended adult cage size : approximately 6' X 3' x 18" (Both 6' Vison and 6' Neodesha cages work well for housing adult tegus )"

Of course bigger is better if you have the room. Sounds like you've got a good cage planned Mike
