Hey,

I live in the Uk and don't have any trouble with my ducks. Pekins as far as i know are kept and bred world-wide so i doubt there would be a problem.

Are the pekins your getting being transported to you from another country? Or have they been bred in America.. and if so where abouts? If they are local to you then that should be fine as they would be use to the environment and climate.

If they are being, or have been sent to you from abroad or a distant location of America, as with any animal it will take them time to adjust to the different weather, temperatures and seasons.

As long as they have their basic needs met they should be ok.
Make sure that they get a constant supply of food, plenty of shelter with bedding such as straw or hay, clean fresh water and plenty of space and exercise.

Hope they get on ok,
Mel X

Hi

Basically give your ducks as much space as you can. For 10 ducks i'd recommend about 8 meters X 8 meters. It depends on the breeds of duck, as smaller breeds obviously need less space.
But like i said give them as much as possible.

Make sure they have plenty of shelter to protect them from strong winds, heavy rain and any snow. The enclosure should also offer protection from predators and vermin.
Also, that they have a large supply of food and water (it may pay to have several food and water bowls in your enclosure to ensure that any birds that are not so dominant can get access).
