my crazy muscovy

CHERRYCIRCUS Nov 17, 2004 01:48 PM

i am having quite a problem with my male muscovy. he is now about 6 months old and is actually trying to kill my 2 females. i have already had to seperate him from my rouens and rabbit and now the 2 female muscovies. i am now having to keep him on his own. he is a really sweet duck to people but is driving me crazy with the other ducks. i have called farms in my area to see if anyone would be interested in taking him and nobody is interested as they all have ducks of their own. if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate any information. thanks, ilesha

HI, I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW I FOUND A GREAT HOME FOR MY DUCK. HE IS LIVING ON A GOOSE FARM WITH A BIG POND AND IS GETTING ALONG GREAT WITH THE GEESE. THEY ACCEPTED HIM AS ONE OF THEIR OWN INSTANTLY.

Hey,

I'm glad you found a good home for your Muscy Male Muscy's are very protective of their females usually when they reach their sexual maturity at roughly 5 - 7 months. I can understand that he would be aggressive towards your other animals, but towards the two girls is abit strange. Male Muscy's shouldn't really be kept with other birds/animals as they can be so agressive. On some occassions they do live well with other ducks if there is no competition for things such as food, space, shelter and water, but it's best not to take the risk.
Anyways, i hope your other ducks get on ok... good luck
