infra red lamps

will it be safe to leave a 250 watt infra red lamp on all the time in my house. i know they can be dangerous i just want some advice on how to use them for my chicks

I'm not sure if it would be safe I would think not? So if you think it willbe/could be and issue maybe you could get two and alternate them, one for the day and one for the night? best of luck,
