Dove life span?

I bought a pied dove in a pet store in Auburn, AL while a student in September of 1986. I had been in a head-on car crash, was injured and chose him because he seemed 'handicapped' . His upper beak was shorter than the bottom and the pet store owner thought he might have trouble eating. He is still living, laughing and healthy. I've looked and have not been able to find out how long a dove can live in captivity. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I really don't know but, I do know of someone that has had a dove for 30 yrs. so it must be pretty long WOW!! How is your bird doing? Have you had any experience with eggs. I was looking on this website because I have found dove eggs and they are fertile I would like to do something with them if I can. Let me know if you have any advise. Thanks, Jo in SC
