baby mallard question

Hello I have a baby mallard duck that was born yesterday.He was born with a yellow pouch on its belly ,but it has shrunk. He doesn't seem to have alot of strength . he tumbles over and he layes on his side and just kicks . is there any hope for him?

The yellow pouch is the egg yolk which is normally sucked into the duck during but before the hatch. Did you help the duck out of the egg? Typically you will never see this yolk, but it must be internalized by the duck. Lots of warmth and humidity. Spray the yolk with non chlorinated water in a spray bottle. There is hope, good luck!

Thank you for the reply ... no I have not helped any of the ducks out of the eggs I have had 3 of them born with the yellow pouches but they have all past this is the only one who has lived.. he has alot more strength and now is able to walk around . we have named it wobbles
