first time ball python owner

eddiez Oct 12, 2003 05:44 PM

Can anyone please give me some advice I have a 4ft ball python that was given to me. About 4 months ago in a 55 gal tank with a half hide a log and a water bowl and a small under tank heat pad I dont know anything about snakes. but I do want to keep it healthy. Also I feed it twice a month is this enough? Also is there any household cleaner i could use to clean its tank with like vinager and water. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, I do know that vinegar and water is safe. You could also use a 10% bleach solution, which would be more effective, but you'd have to let everything air out.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

I have read a mixture of rubbing alchol vinager and a few drops of dish soap is a good mixture but i afraid to try it i dont want to hurt my snake. and also how often should i change the bedding.

if your feeding it rats, 2 times a month might be good, but how big are the rats? if your feeding it mice, your way under feeding it.
