Hi, I am new to this and have a few questions. I have two ducks that are about 8 months old, a male Pekin and a female Indian Runner. I have seen them mating a few times, and my Indian Runner has been laying eggs, and she is now sitting on them. There are about 8-12 eggs, and she layed them in their little doghouse where they sleep. Are the eggs probably fertile? Is it possible for them to still be fertile and hatch since they are different breeds of ducks? Also, if the eggs maybe are fertile, when should I take the male away so that he doesn't have access to the female and eggs? (I've heard that males sometimes kill ducklings when they hatch.)
If anybody has any info or experiance in this, I would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks!
