Hi,
A dog house may not be large enough for two ducks. Adult Pekins need about 4 square feet of space each minimally. I have 5 Pekins and have to split one apart from the other four as she came later and they never accepted her (fighting ensues.) I purchased dog kennels online from Options Plus. They are metal and easy to assemble. I then picked up some thick foam insulation sheets from Lowes and attached them with plastic ties. I also use a heat light in extreme cold. I just clamp it to an area of the cage that does not have insulation (so it doesn't burn) and it seems to stay fairly warm. I live in Tennessee however so NY will be considerably colder. We have just a few days of real cold and the most difficulty I've had is with their water freezing. Make sure you check it regularly in the winter. I've moved their water supply to the side of the cage with the heat lamp and that seems to work.
Their cage is not exactly stunning looking (it says Tyvek all around) but it serves the purpose.
Good Luck with your ducks!
