Hey, whoever read my post below about my past silkie rooster Buddy, I wanted to share that a couple days ago I added 2 new silkie's to my life to love forever as I did Buddy. He will always be remembered and the dearest pet to my heart and I think I will find much joy sharing the memories of buddy with my new pets. I have 2 "bantam" silkie hens. Buddy was a standard large silkie rooster. I didn't want a rooster again and I didn't want a black silkie again so I got one white and one beautiful splash silkie, both hens. They were both show birds, just a year old. I have given them the names Little Lottie & Lilly. I am carrying the tradition of them being spoiled indoor pets just as buddy was. These girls have a spoiled life already, I just bought them a large cage for sleeping and for over-all use and a small indoor/outdoor pen that you can buy for small animal at any pet store. They already go into there bed by themselves. In the early morning when I still want to sleep but they want to play I open there cage door which is also in my room with me and they walk out into a pen lined with newspaper on the floor where they get to play for a few hours as I go back to sleep. Giving them a chance to lay any eggs if they want to. Then later I put on them a homemade diaper where I let them roam the hole room. I also put the pin outside if it's a pretty day so they can peck and scratch the floor. These are very spoiled pets already and get held many many times on a daily basis and when my little sis comes home she goes right to them to play with them. Lilly is very tame and loves people already. Sometimes when I am at this desk typing she'll look up at me and prepair like she's going to try to jump on my lap but I am too high and she's just a tiny bantam so I pick her up and put her on my lap and she actually lays down and falls asleep. She's a sweetheart. Little Lottie was really unsocial when I got her but just in a few days she holds still to be picked up and is getting used to the attention. She's one beautiful splash. Soon she will have a beautiful fluffy head like lilly but right now has a little bit due to a bald spot from breeding before I got her but she will be just as beautiful as lilly but I think she's already beautiful. I just wanted to share the story and that I finally got new babies to love. Buddy will ALWAYS be in my heart as my alltime bestfriend and fav pet, but I am so happy to get these new babies to love another silkie once again! I hope you enjoy the pic! thanks
