I got a duckling from the feedstore about a week and a half ago, actually 4 of them. There wonderful and I love them all to death but the one we call Hewey seems sick, yet he dosn't. He eats ok and drinks ok but he's always resting and is having trouble walking he can walk, he just is VERY wobbly and when you pick him up andput him down he has trouble finding his balance. Whats wrong with him? He's usually the hardiest one and is sort of the leader of the flock. We took him o the vet and what we thought he had (coccidia) thank heavens he dosn't but im still worried. The vet said he was fine but he didn't seem like a big duck person :[ Yes it was an exotic vet, and we have him on medicated scratch as well, what was given to us by the feedstre and is a popular brand. I called the feed store and asked them if anyones called about this before but PLEASE help me I love my duck :''{

What kind of medicated food is it? It's never a good idea that ducklings be on medicated food (there are none approved for ducklings and can cause serious problems, especially food with amprolium)and instead a gamebird food or simply "waterfowl" food as long as it has a protein range of 18-20%. A vet who knew anything about ducks would have been able to tell you that and would have also recommended xrays & bloodwork.
