hello, i have 5 doves that i have had since they were babies, i am forced to move to another state, so i needed to lighten my load and give away 2 of my doves. these doves are male ringnecks, they are about 2 yrs old. and have lived in 3'by 2' cages most of their lives. i gave them to a friend of mine who has an outdoor avery, i thought that they would love the freedom to fly around and socialize with other birds, however we live in one of the hottest places in the U.S. yuma arizona. i have beens so preoccupied that i didnt even think about trying to get them conditioned to the outdoors, i just took them over last night and my poor birds are panting and holding their wings out, they are not use to the heat. they have always lived indoors.i am now feeling unhappy about this arrangement, everyone says they will adjust and be happier outdoors with their new cage but i am worried about them. my question is will they adapt to their new environment or should i go try to get them back? thanks
