does anybody have the answers to my questions?

MaryNY Feb 11, 2008 08:54 AM

I'm out here, but I don't have answers for you. It's a bird that I have no experience with.
I was waiting for others to answer because I was interested, too.

chickens and turkeys are illegal where i live so i'm looking at alternitives? any other alternitves to chickens other than jungle fowl?

MaryNY Mar 12, 2008 04:46 PM

Are hens illegal, too? Sometimes just the roosters are illegal. Sometimes it's just the type of housing that is illegal (here you can't keep chickens in a basement or an unventilated shed, or fight the roosters, but other than that, don't create a health hazard and it's fine.)

How about guinea fowl or quail?

What do you want to keep poultry for?

banjobert Mar 27, 2008 03:17 PM

i think both the rooster and the hen are illeagal along with turkeys. guinea fowl are rather loud but i have thought about quail. i want to keep poultry because it sounds fun and may keep bugs down depending on if/what i get.
