Munin is a pied crow right? Where did you get him/her? How much was she? Did she really kill that squirrel, or was that just a joke? Do you train Munin like you would a hawk? Weight control and everything? How much game does she catch a year? Do you fly her year round, or moult her in the summer? Please explain this to me, im used to falconry, and this looks interesting, and i may have to try it
Might be kind of interesting to fly my red-tail and a pied crow........
Thx a bunch

Yes, Corvus Albus are also called Pied Crows - But are actually a type of raven -

Both of my pair were perchased from a friend of mine locally -

My birds are both CB, and I paid $950 for each of them - They usually run between that and up to around 1,200$ or more each, depending if they are wholesale or retail -

Yes, Hugin an Munin were trained as falconry birds, through alot of the same ways a hawk would be traied, but with a "light touch" as, they are much more fragile and a tad more "dificult" then training a hawk. Thier kind of like a cross betwen a Prarie Falcon and an Amazon Parrot - You have to real carefull when working a bird like this, as unlike a redtail hawk, and when they bate, are verry easy to injure.

They always have accsess to food while im not working them,(puppy chow, cut fruits and veggies and corn on the cob) But I use thier dailt fresh meat rations in training - Three to four Mice, Superworms, orange winged cockroaches, different meats and things like halved quail. They can not be kept healthy on dogfood and stuff alone - just like a hawk, they need fresh whole prey -

My pair has taken down red and grey squirrel, who were makeing a pest of themselves around my mothers property. I usualy course them after a red squirrel skin lure, and they take frogs and field mice, rats and house sparrows too - Grey squirrel is the absolute largest prey Id ever let them go for, as anything bigger would be much too dangerous. They are amazingly smart birds, and it astounds me how quick they learn, and figure out ways to take down prey -

Hope this has been helpfull -

I would be VERY careful flying them on squirrels. I have seen some VERY nasty bites on hawks from squirrels that have crippled the birds for life. thanks for the info, and keep the bird safe!

I know squirrel have some impressively nasty teeth - I dont often fly them at greys, and steer mostly to reds and things like rats mice and what not when there out there -

They do dispatch the animals verry quickly, and efficently, hammering the base of thier skull, and around the head with thier bills - You can actually see the damage he did to the red squirrels head in the shot of him with it -
