Scrub Jays Needed

chris carmichael May 05, 2003 07:53 AM

Greetings:
This is a quick note to find out if anybody knows of captive born/bred/legally field captured scrub jays that may be for sale (for academic purposes). If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you could email me at:
ccarmichael@malone.edu

Thanks for your help and I greatly appreciate your time.
Chris

Scrub jays can not be legally collected, or sold in the US unless you have a collecting permit issued by your state department of natural resorces, and the properly issued papers from where the birds are to be collected from - I know in florida they are treated as a threatened bird -

All over the states they, and all other native wildfowl are protected by the migratorty bird act, and without extensive permits you can not posses the animals, living, dead, or parts thereof -

What do you need scrub jays for ?
