Hi everyone,
I am not very familiar with birds, but I do have a serious question. One of my neighbors found a bird nest with eggs in his BBQ pit, and wants to remove it. If he does so, I am guessing the mother will most likely abondon it, if she even finds it. I have a Hovobator incubator, in which am currently incubating nine eastern box turtle eggs, that I could incubate the bird eggs in, and I could also buy extra red worms to feed them when they hatch. I do not know what kind of bird it is, but it is all brown, and its head is a lighter brown. I am from south central Louisiana, and this bird is native here. I was hoping you could give some information on incubating them. What temperature should I incubate them at? Do the eggs need to be rotated, and if so, how much and how often? I know rotating reptile eggs can kill the embryo, but some bird eggs need to be rotated. After they hatch, what temperature should I keep the chicks at? Should I chop up the worms before feeding them? Any other info would be great. You can also e-mail me at steve_5201@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Steve

Its nice of you to at least try to give them a chance!
