Help with young bird found at work

jasonw May 02, 2004 12:57 PM

I work at an industrial plant and found a bird next to the werehouse last night. He can flap his wings like hell and get about 3-5 feet but just hits the ground every time. Can somone please tell me #1 What kind of bird this is? #2 Proper feed and care info. Pictures are below. My intentions are to only keep it long enough untill it is old enough to fend for itself. Sorry about the pictures size but I wanted good resolution for a better I.D

Thank you for helping me save thius little bird

If its still alive, get it to a rehabilitator ASAP!!! Raising birds is meant for professionals. If you tell me what part of the country you're in, I can probably recommend one. But you are kidnapping this poor bird. It is a fledgling learning to fly and the other facts of life, which are unfortunately being kidnapped by people meaning to do well.

Meanwhile, don't feed it unless its been a long time. and keep it in a warm, dark, and quiet spot. Including the car ride to the rehabilitator.
