Last year after building a new house in Arizona we had roadrunners running into our windows litterally. This lasted for a few weeks and the lone road runner left.
Now this summer I have a variety of local birds flying into my windows all hours of the day. We have bronze tint on the windows.
It has a mirror affect. I'm wondering if this is confusing the birds. right now is egg laying season because I've got nests on every window pop out and ledge. Even on top or our outdoor paddle fan.
I had to remove 2 nests so we could continue doing work on the patios. But now what?
Whould hanging a variety of bird houses help? I doubt it since they want to be under our covered patio in the shade. But I don't now if it would be a waste or a help or make it worse.
One bird is a finch, the others possibly a sparrow of some kind native to Arizona. The birds are not scared away by us or our cat standing on the windowsil. They fly into the window at regualar intervals of about 3 seconds for an hour or more at a time! I hear them all day long!
Anyway to curb their annoying and stressful habit?
