yesterday i found a baby cardinal, she was on the ground under her nest. I found a glob of blood on her wing, then i took a paper towel and picked her up and put her in her nest. i havent seen her mother ever since. she constantly chirps, and it makes me want to cry, please let me know what i can do!!!!

it sounds to me like the mother and baby were attacked, maybe by a cat or something. The mother most likely won't return. Contact a Rebabilitation Center or Animal Control so they can care for the cardinal until it's old enough to return to the wild.
