Feeding wild crows

AtelerixMel Aug 28, 2004 12:23 PM

Has anyone ever heard of a bird feeder for crows? I think crows are pretty cool and wouldn't mind feeding them outside my third floor window. I'm not going to hang an animal carcass out there though. Is there any kind of nut or seed that would attract them? I've never seen a crow at a bird feeder...

I hang suet in the cold weather for them. Also you can put cracked corn on a platform feeder but lots of other critters will eat it too. I have been able to get crows/ravens attention with the plastic crow decoys that can be purchased at sporting goods stores for about $5 each. They come down to check them out. It is easier to get crows to come in the city rather than out in the country as country crows are much more shy/wary of people I have found.
