Hi,
I just found an injured barn swallow. It seems very young, but it has feathers on its wings and can flap its wings. Its mud nest fell and broke in my yard and he was sitting on the ground. I think his leg might be broken but his wings seem undamaged. I have had him since this morning and he now seems much more alert and even ate a little oats soaked in water (i didn't know what else to feed him). I am going to try and get him to a wildlife rehabilitator but in the mean time i would appreciate it if you could give me some advice on what to feed him, and should i give him just plain water in a dropper? I heard they could suffocate this way and that i should just soak his food in water but i'm not sure. Any other help regarding this young bird would be great.
