Can anyone help me identify this bird?
We're thinking it's a veery or some type of thrush.
The bird is in NJ - coastal mid-atlantic US.
Thanks!!

I am fairly certain this bird is a thrush, due to overall shape and colours, as well as bill shape specifically. As far as which thrush, I am leaning towards (as you mentioned) Veery, due to the weak/absent eyering and brownish (as opposed to blackish) spotting. This is definitely a young bird, as it is still showing a lot of gape (yellow skin at the edges of the bill), which makes identification that much harder. Do you have anymore pictures? Hope this helps (or confirms what you were thinking).
