I found a falcon

mitchkin5 Feb 08, 2007 04:18 PM

Does anyone know if you find a falcon who has a band on it how to find the owner of it?
My boyfriend called and said he had gone outside to check on the fish and there was a hawk sitting over by my skimmer and when it saw him he started screaming at him but didn't fly so he went back in to get his coat and gloves and when he opened the door to go back out the bird had followed him and was coming up the steps to come inside the house....luckily he had picked up a towel and threw it over him and saw it had a band on it so he called the Fish and Game and they told him to call my Avian vet. So he took the bird down to the vets office and its a falcon(he thought it was a hawk) like someone who hunts with one and its wing was drooping and probably hurt and that was why it wasn't flying and why it was screaming for my boyfriend cause he was hungry! Cool story huh? Anyway I'm trying to find the number on his band so I can help return it to its owner...just thought someone might know who I could call.
