Male megarhyssa. What species?

pilonm Jul 10, 2006 07:50 AM

Hello,

I got a lot of those males megarhyssa (no females) flying continuously around my cedars in Sherbrooke, Quebec (near the Vermont borders). Is it possible to know its species? First I thought it was Megarhyssa atrata lineata but I'm really not sure when you look at the reddish abdomen, the colors of the legs and of the head. Any idea???

Here are links to the pictures:

Hello, Finally I think that my insect is not an ichneumonidae. Maybe an hemynoptera of the king sawfly. Is there someone who can help me about the family of this insect?

Thank you very much in advance,

Michel
