this forum does not get much action compared to other kingsnake forums. is there another forum for T's out there? i know they are more popular than the forum would show. doesn't someone have some kinda discussion topic?
Welcome to kingsnake.com's message board system. Here you may share and discuss information with others about your favorite reptile and amphibian related topics such as care and feeding, caging requirements, permits and licenses, and more. Launched in 1997, the kingsnake.com message board system is one of the oldest and largest systems on the internet.

There are many tarantula forums out there. There are 8 of them that I check on a daily basis and I belong to several more. Some of them have hundreds to thousands of members.
This place is rather slow, but I like hanging out here because it is one of the first two sites that I found when I first got started all those years ago. For whatever reason this is one of the first sites that people find, even today. It is a great starting place for people. I think once people learn more and figure out how to find stuff on their own a little, then they naturally find the other forums and leave this one behind. But I still like hanging out.

Kingsnake is a great place for reptiles, but it is not a hub for tarantulas since they don't specialize in bugs. Many T people do not like the distraction of reptiles on the sites. They prefer a total T site an nothing more.
I don't like Arachnoboards, it's too big, and there's too many unfriendly people there. Newbies sometimes get slammed for asking newbie questions. I got hassled when I was posting questions while doing research for my Masters degree. There's some good info there, But I don't like posting there.
My top 3 sites are The American Tarantula Society, Arachnofreaks.com, and Tarantulas.US (I love their gallery function, check mine out below).
But I got my start here and Tarantulas.com so I stay loyal to them as well.

Traffic varies depending on the year. Usually dead in the winter and slowly thaws during the spring and picks up for the summer before fading in the fall.
