Mo-Ranch (near Hunt, TX)-Gerrhonotus liocephalus

GECKOS UNLIMITED Oct 12, 2003 08:40 PM

I found this beautiful Texas Alligator Lizard at Mo-Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We arrived at the ranch around 5:30 pm, and my wife spotted this guy about 10 minutes after we arrived. It was relatively cool (70 degrees F), so I was able to get several photos of him. It has been almost 20 years since I've found this species. What a find!!

This is a photo near the area where the G. liocephalus was found. We were about 100-200 yards from the Guadalupe River.

That's a really neat picture of one of my favorite types of lizards. TC.
