Hello again. Should I change the solid top or a screen top? I ask because now I can use dry substrate, and may be able to let the air circulate and not stagnate under the glass top. I'm a rank beginner, and I thought I had researched all that was necessary, but noooo, I need advice.

Yes, it should absolutely have a screen top. Air circulation is very important, and since it should be kept dry anyway, a solid lid will keep in too much humidity.
