i found my cat playing with a tarantula ouside and i caught it. one of its legs is "bleeding". what do i do?

Tarantula blood does not clot like ours, so you must put somehting on it to get it to clot. Cornstarch works great for this, but white flour will do if you dont have it. Just put a pinch of it on the wound site. Watch it for progress, that should stop it, if it doesn't a drop of superglue will seal it up as well, but if the wound is on a joint, that will prevent that joing from being used.

The tarantula is most likely a mature male. Look at the first set of shorter legs, the pedipalps. See if the ends of them are enlarged and bulbous, do they look like little boxing gloves, or do they look like the other feet. If bulbous, he's a male, and should be set free to go find a mate. He will die at the end of the fall mating season anyway.
