Hi, I was in a pet shop recently, and they had a tarantula called a vietnamese tiger birdeater. Any ideas about what it coud have been?
This is a looooong list of T's and their scientific names. Did the one you saw look like the Vietnamese Tiger, about 30 species down the list?

keep in a deep enclosure with lots of substrate as they are obligate burrowers. i have one (Haplopelma Albostriata) and he built a deep tunnel & i rarely see him. actually only once in the 3 months i have had him. make sure there is water available & i was told they like humidity a little higher than most T's so i dampen the substrate from time to time.
