Good day,

I am looking at getting my first T and am leaning towards a Grammostola aureostriata. Would this be a good choice? Are they good eaters? I read that G. Rosea tends to go on fasts for long periods which would kind of make me paranoid being a my first one. Also I live in North Dakota so petstore selection is few and far between could someone recommend a breeder online? Anyway i ordered the tarantula keepers guide and will do some more reading before i make my decision. Thanks

Spock

Good decision to get the guide first.

G. aureostriata is great, and an excellent choice.

Botar by eights, Swift's invertebrates, and southernspiderworks are some of the top ones. I could get you the big list, but I don't have it handy right now.

Yeah room temp is just fine. Down to 70 day and 65 night is OK. 5-10 gallon aquarium or large size kritter keeper or shoe/sweater rubbermaid style box. The latter is the cheapest way to go at about $3.
