Can anyone ID these T's

terryd Dec 24, 2007 12:12 PM

I have an idea what they are but let's see what you guys think.

They were the size of a small beer can, and very arboreal. I was working in northern Brazil on the Amazon, near Boa vista.

I know the photos are pretty weak, I was really mad at myself when I came home and put the chip in the computer. In hind site I wish I had taken about 50 more photos of these big T's.

And here is one more spider that we saw alot of too. For some reason it just says don't pick me up. I know it's not a Tarantula, but thought someone may be able to ID it.

I'll end on an orbweaver form the same area, thanks, Dell.

Well all I can say about your T is that it is an Avicularia. I don't think you could get anyone to positively name it down to the species level. They may guess but, the genus is in such a mess right now, that's all it would be.
