old chilean rose?

Dkppunk Jan 01, 2008 08:33 PM

so i have been having trouble with my chilean rose for a little bit now. she has refused to eat for about 6 months and is slowly starting to get thin. she just sits herself in her "house" and does nothing all the time. she shows no interest in food or even moving at all. i noticed tonight that one of her back legs seems to be completely paralyzed. i have had her for about 6 years and she was almost, if not completely, full grown when i got her. i'm starting to think its her time because she just refuses to do anything, on top of i'm really not sure how old she is.
any insight would be helpful.

Well, I can't really add anything helpful, except to say they I also believe that she may be on her way out. REfusal to eat is nothing to be worried about, but when it is compounded with a shrinking abdomen, then something is up. The paralyzed leg is also a good sign that things are not going well.

Hope she pulls through, but I wouldn't bet on it. Sorry.

yeah i figured, she has had a good and happy run with me though, so im not too sad. it still is upsetting, but all i can do is make her feel more comfortable on her way out.
