i keep snakes mostly but i do have one tarantula i adopted. and i've had for several months now. hes always been doing very well and been healthy. well i bought a few new snakes and i was going to do a mite treatment on them using provent-a-mit which the company says you cannot use around spiders. i took him up to my vet clinic to board him and now he stays curld in a corner all the time. i think he is stressed out and i dont know how to help him. i'm not that experienced with tarantulas and i was looking to get some advice on how to make him more comfortable until i can get back home. he is a very loved pet and i don't want him to die. thank you for any help you can provide.

When you say curled up, do you mena like the death curl, like a clenched fist? Or just that he has his legs drawn up close. I'll assume the latter.

I'm assuming that he's (are you sure it's male?) all huddled up at the vet clinic right? Doe sit have a hide? I'm curious why it wouldn't just go in the hide instead of huddling up in the corner. Does he have a water dish?

Where is he being kept at the clinic? In a room with bright lights? In a noisy room with lots of other animals? Is there a lot of airflow in the room? Bright lights, loud noises, vibration, or a draft could all cause stress in a T and cause them to huddle up. If there is a lot of animal smells in the room maybe that is causing stress. It possible that there are chemicals in the air at the clinic that are bothering it. Even the cleaners they use to sterilize rooms. T's are very sensitive to that type of stuff.

What exactly is the prevent-a-mite? Is it a local thing that just goes on the snake? Or is it a bomb thing that treats the whole room/house?

If local, then why not just keep the spider in another room. Possibly on the top shelf of a closet, on the other side of the house. That should prevent exposure and will be more comfy to the spider. They like it dark anyway. You can ignore the T in a closet for a couple weeks and it'll be just fine. Just be sure there is no cedar in the closet. Cedar and other pine type produts have harmful oils.
