blacklight effects on tarantulas?

Spookyjay Jan 11, 2008 07:48 PM

If you had a blacklight on a tarantula for a few hour a day, would the light harm it in any way?

Having a blacklight on any animal for a few hours a day will affect its vision. Ultraviolet light is very damaging to the eyes.

Why would you want to put a blacklight on a tarantula? Even if the light was to watch a scorp at night it should only be on for a few minutes. The light will harm them as well.
