sudden death?

fmanda Feb 22, 2008 07:48 PM

Hey everyone, today my 6" female T. apophysis suddenly died. She recently ate and I have had her since she was a sling. Today I came in and found her with her legs curled underneath her body. She is still moving slightly but I don't think for much longer. Any Ideas as to what might have caused this? I recently had a P. platyomma go in a similar fashion.
Thanks
Frank

If it is still moving then you could try sticking its cage in a steamy bathroom. Sound like dehydration might be a cause. That species requires high humidity.

The humidity in the cage is around 80% and she always has a full water dish. What gets me is that I have had her since she was a 1" sling and now she is almost 6" and I have never changed anything.

Sounds like it was high enough, not sure what happened.
