We live in New Jersey, in a partially wooded area, just moved some planters by a drain out pipe and 5-8 'bugs' vanished off into the undergrowth.
Best way to describe them would be like a cross between a cricket and a cockroach. They are maybe less than an inch in length and move by 'hoping' they have bigger back legs than roaches. They don't seem to like the light and the places we have found them have been dark and damp.
Any ideas ? I'm keen to find out if they are a pest or not.
Thanks
