I've got a large beetle about 2 inches in length tha I would like to classify, It looks like an Oriental coachroach, but I believe it is a beetle. Any ideas?

By the sound of your description, my first guess would be a Cerambycid possibly in the subfamily Prioninae. A pic however would be required to confirm this.
