Larvae care help, any suggestions??

PeterGoezinya Aug 29, 2004 09:52 PM

Alright guys, I figured this would be the best place to come. I have sever different species of beetle larvae (L2) coming my way in the near future and I was looking for some home-made methods of raising them into beetles. My thought was this, a layer of peat hummus and mix it with some actually rotted wood ground up in a meat-grinder or old food processor. Microved rotted wood of course, to kill any parasites or other unwanted critters. PLEASE shoot me some ideas if you have them, some of the larvae are expensive.

Your larvae is mealworms right?? Someone gave me advice in a different disscution about turning them into beetles. They said keep the in peat moss. Throw in some potato's and carrots from time to time and in a few weeks they should pupate and turn into little brown beetles.
