monster grub found, any clue

johnnyblazekfd Dec 28, 2004 09:15 PM

I live in Central texas and while working we found this monster grub, the largest I have ever seen. It looks like a "June bug" beetle grub(dont know what there officially called but thats what we call them around here.) Its a white fleshy larvae with a golden brown head. Well its much much larger than those beetles, its about the size of a half dollar and our local garden shop said it was a rhinoceras beetle grub and that they were worth alot of money, any clues??

that grub is not worh much as they are not rare. Can you send one to me? my email adress is, "beetleguy@comcast.net"

It is a rhinoceros beetle larva... Common if you dig in your compost or anyone else"s compost. they actually sell for about $12.00 live

some books say they sell for 6,500 dollars a specimen, but not for north american species...
