Help me to identify this beetle

This was flying around the house the other night, I swatted it and got it outside. Tonight I found it around the front door (I'm assuming it's the same one). I don't know anything about bugs, but I'm guessing it's not native to the area. Sorry for the poor quality picture. I can try to get a better picture if you need me to, and I will try to answer any questions you have about it too. Thanks for the help. (Right now it's living in a mason jar)

A species of north American stag beetle.

You live in the Eastern or Central US (or possibly Canada)as the only NA stag beetle that looks anything like that and has light colored femur is Pseudolucanus capreolus -Red brown stag beetle
