I posted a while back but it was removed so I'll ask in a different fasion.

I see vivarium set ups filled with a variety of frogs, lizards, snakes and turtles all the time.. Most often, each animal is given its own tank, but I have seen people mix all of the above, in the same large (275 and up) Vivarium. I'm one of these animal "nutts" that spend months planning, choosing, and setting up these truly awesome Viv's. So, Frogs and lizards are great but after enough people change their Petco style tanks to a butt-kicking mini eco-system, the tanks you spend months on look fairly average.

I just finished setting up a Tiger Beetle tank. 40 gal. And it was built to mimic the area where I caught these insects (Napa River). Next to my frog enclosures I have several native "bug" tanks: Araneidae, Pisauridae, Salticidae Theridiidae (all Spiders), Carabidae, and 15 Cicindela hirticollis.

I am happy with these Natives, but am hoping to go exotic. What are the laws on the state to state importation of live beetles, spiders, and other arthropods that are not going to be used a feeders. Any information on the ethics, and environmental conserns will be appreciated and taken seriously.
