Breeding Xyloryctes thestalus

Has anyone ever had any luck breeding these guys or xyloryctes jamainis? I read that they usually lay eggs in dead wood but I'm not sure if they will lay in substrate. I've had mine for about a month (2 females and 1 male) and no eggs yet. They were living on compost with some dead wood on top to walk on. I've since switched to coconut bark because of a mite problem.
They're really cute little guys and I'd like to breed them. If anyone has any advice let me know

I'm not sure of the breed strategy of this beetle, it may coincide with seasonal temperature, light & humidity changes. The site below has some good basic info:
