Vietnamese Centipede

head Mar 29, 2004 08:45 PM

I was just wondering what a good feeding schedule would be for a full grown centi? I have been feeding it a med. sized hisser once a week, the centi appears to be getting a bit portly, but it continues to be a ravenous eater.
Any info would be good,
Josh

I feed my Scolopendra gigantea about once every 7-10 days. I typically will feed single-lobster or discoid roaches & occasionally Zophobas morio larvae. I've had my centipede since 1997 (and it was nearly full grown) & it's doing fine (not losing weight). When there is no food around (insect prey-not mice), they tend to be less active (or torpid). Over-feeding will shorten the life of a centipede as well as almost all other animals.
