if placed in a cage with live plants, will the millipedes eat the plants? I'd like to add a millipede to my crested geckos cage that has live plants, but don't want them eaten! Thx

Are you saying that you want to put millipedes in WITH Gecko's?
If you're gonna do that, the Gecko's will eat the pedes!
If you're saying that you took the Gecko's out of the tank and put the pedes in place of the Gecko's, then yer safe..(I'm not really sure what yer talk'n about?!??)..
Live plants give off a certain amount of OXYGEN and we all need it! When i started my pede hobby 20 years ago. I just had plain potting soil. No plants.. My first pedes only live 3 months and then they died. No,they weren't full size yet, just small ones. Then later on,I decided to put a lot of plants in the tanks and PRESTO!, they thrived! They molted many times within the next 5 years... So, it goes to show you thru experienced,we all next plants and trees around us. If you have females & they layed eggs, the babies will eat the roots of the plants.. WHen there's no food around, they'll eat some of the roots. Keep plenty of greens and fruits on a plate & put it in your tank. Robert..
Thank you - it seems that most people are telling me basically the same...as long as it's got plenty of food it will likely leave the plants alone.
I was talking about putting the millipede in the same cage as the crested gecko (not a leopard gecko). Many have done it w/o any problems. They just leave eachother alone.
Thanks again!
