Hey everyone,
I'm really into reptiles but i also have a tarantula and I'm thinking about getting an insect of some sorts (large one). I'm thinking about a millipede for now. Can you guys just tell me what kind i should get? Thanks in advance.
Oh and any pics of your enclosures would be great too!

Madagascar Fire Millipedes!!! (Aphistogoniulus sp.) The most striking in my opinion, due to their great coloration (lots of red!). Be sure to do your research on their needs.

Avoid the “Ghana Red Banded Millipede”, similar in appearance yet seem more nervous then other millipede. Not the best starter millipede.

Also avoid the “Vietnamese rainbow millipede”. Again similar to the fire millipedes. They have been reported as being difficult. Success may hinge upon a cooler temperature range.

I'd suggest one of the African species like the giant black (very large and impressive and easy to breed). I agree the ghana red banded should be avoided but in my opinion the Madagascan fire should be as well. As far as I'm aware not many people have had success in breeding them in captivity and Madagascar has also closed its boarders for exportation.

Another good species is the Tanzanian red legged. They breed easily and look quite striking with black bodies and red legs and faces.
