PLEASE HELP !! my millipedes are sick!

Debra66 Apr 03, 2005 11:03 AM

my millipedes have suddenly developed white mites (theirs are black), and my smaller millipede has his head tucked in , for a few days now, and he wont uncurl. Sometimes he writhes around as if he is in pain. Theres a small white bump where he has his head tucked. Is this a parasite?? I dont want to remove it, since I dont want to accidently hurt him. Can anyone help??

Debra

If it is mites I'd remove the millipedes to a sterile dry container with only a shallow water dish.
Mites tend to thrive in very damp conditions.

Good luck
